Publication Ethics
The Ukrainian Journal of Medicine, Biology and Sports implements high standards of publishing ethics in its activities. The Editorial Board operates based on international principles of integrity, maintaining complete confidentiality, careful oversight of the publication process, and preventing any conflicts of interest.
The editorial office officially adheres to the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and uses the Publishing Ethics Resource Kit methodology from Elsevier.
Key Principles of Operation
- Fundamental values: scientific rigor, objectivity, professionalism, and support for innovation.
- Relations: loyalty towards all participants in the creative and publishing process.
- Peer Review: mandatory use of the double-blind peer review method, involving competent experts.
- Support for authors: ongoing consultation to ensure materials meet the standards of international scientometric databases.
Decision-Making on Publications
The editor makes the decision on whether to publish submitted articles, guided solely by the academic value of the work and the reviewers' conclusions. The editor adheres to the rules regarding defamation, copyright violations, and plagiarism.
The editor must not use unpublished information in their own research without the author's written consent. Editors are required to make appropriate decisions regarding ethical complaints related to the submitted manuscript.
The journal editor evaluates the intellectual content of manuscripts regardless of the authors' race, gender, sexual orientation, religious views, origin, citizenship, or political preferences.
Confidentiality
The editor and the Editorial Board do not disclose any information about submitted manuscripts (authors, topics, texts, etc.). Any manuscript received for review is considered a confidential document. The editor and the Editorial Board are committed to not disclosing information about accepted manuscripts without necessity, except to authors, reviewers, other scientific consultants, and the publisher.
Conflict of Interest Resolution
Unpublished materials should not be used in any research by the editor, reviewers, or others without written consent from the authors.
Editors, reviewers, and scientific consultants are required to withdraw from reviewing manuscripts if there is a conflict of interest due to competitive, collaborative, or other interactions and relationships with the authors, companies, or other organisations related to the manuscript.
The Editorial Board is committed to taking appropriate measures in cases of conflicts or claims regarding manuscripts or published materials.
The editorial office of the Ukrainian Journal of Medicine, Biology and Sports can resolve issues regarding claims or doubts related to misconduct in research or publications raised by readers, reviewers, or other parties. Furthermore, the publisher reserves the right to inform readers about the resolution of conflict situations.
